Calm your crying baby
It is normal for a baby to cry one to two hours every day the first weeks.
Understanding Colic
Not being a medical condition, colic has many causes. Usually categorized when your baby is crying for no apparent reason, the causes vary from stomach irritation to sensory overload.
When your baby is crying, it is important to remain calm. When deciding on a method to calm your baby, stick to it. Sudden changes might make matters worse. Your calmness approach will increase the chances to soothe your baby. Accept the fact that a colicky baby might cry up to than 3 hours minimum 3 days a week. It can last until baby is 4 months old and might be more persistent when 4-6 weeks of age.
It is important not to diagnose your baby yourself. Remember there are many more reasons than colic that can cause your baby to cry. See your pediatrician when in doubt. |
